Your treatment may also include heat therapy, electro acupuncture, cupping, gua sha and sports massage.
Electro acupuncture is the use of an electric current attached to needles. The feeling is similar to that of a TENS unit: you may feel pulsing, jumping or flexing of the muscle, or a light vibration. This is used to stimulate the needles in order to increase the intensity of the treatment and promote additional healing.
Cupping therapy is becoming increasingly popular, especially with professional athletes and celebrities. The cups create a suction and increase blood flow in order to repair the muscles involved. This is a great therapy for competition prep and recovery, and also for general maintenance while training. You may be left with “cupping marks” which look similar to bruises, but they do not hurt and usually disappear within 3-7 days.
Gua sha has similar effects to cupping but can be done on smaller muscle groups and more pinpointed areas. It also is a great treatment for the common cold. This modality uses gua sha tool (usually a smooth, flat piece of plastic, bone or stone) to “scrape” along muscles or channels.
All treatments include heat therapy by use of an infrared heat lamp, and a short massage after acupuncture.

The Cryo Facial is a Cryogenic treatment, in which a controlled beam of vaporized liquid nitrogen is used to freeze the skin of the face, scalp, and neck area. The Cryo Facial is truly one of a kind. The cold nitrogen produces an instantaneous tightness in the skin, filling in fine lines and wrinkles. Collagen is activated to produce more cells, causing skin to become more elastic over repeated use. Additionally, skin’s pore size is reduced, keeping toxins, dirt and grime out. The Cryo FaciaL flushes away built up toxins in the skin and soothes inflammation, eliminating dreaded puffiness.
